National Football Team 2014
 
               
   
The mencap squad for 2014 was selected at the national football trials which were held at the University of Warwick on 16 February. In April the squad met for a training weekend hosted by Pontefract Collieries FC. The weekend gave the players a chance to get to know each other and start to gel as a team. Matches were organised against Ponefract Pirates DFC (Beechnut Lane) and Bradford DFC (Valley Parade) The weekend also included a trip to the John Smiths Stadium to watch Huddersfield Town v Leicester City.
Huge thanks go to Ponefract Pirates and Bradford City for a magnificent weekend.
